Maureen Webster

Maureen Webster is entering her eighth season at the helm of the Clarkson University Women's Basketball program. It didn't take long for Webster to put her stamp on the program, as the Golden Knights earned three straight Liberty League post-season appearances in her first three years, including a regular-season and post-season title in 2015-16 that pushed Clarkson into the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 1989.

Webster has compiled a record of 85-80 for a .515 winning percentage in seven seasons at Clarkson and won the program's first Liberty League Championship in 2015-16 since the conference was renamed for the 2004-05 season. Clarkson was 22-6 overall in 2015-16 and won 14 straight contests, just two shy of the program's all-time mark. In 2016-17, the Golden Knights returned to the conference tournament but fell one win short of a repeat, falling the Liberty League Championship game.

This past season, the Golden Knights had an incredibly young team with eight freshman and just two players with more than 35 career games under, but the team recovered from some growing pains early and nearly knocked off a top-25 team in December.

Webster, who earned both an undergraduate degree in Psychology and a master's degree in Education from SUNY Potsdam, spent 2013-14 as the head women's basketball coach at SUNY Delhi. Prior to her stint with Broncos, Webster was an assistant coach for her alma mater for three years and also assisted at SUNY Canton for one season following the completion of her undergraduate work at Potsdam.

Webster, known then as Maureen Curley, had a solid two-sport career while at SUNY Potsdam from 2005-2009. While playing for the women's basketball program, she played in 108 career games with 104 starting nods, producing 956 points (sixth all-time at Potsdam) and 762 rebounds (second all-time). Her career averages were 8.9 points and 7.1 rebounds per game, while also chipping in 2.5 assists, 1.5 steals, and 0.4 blocks per game. She also shot 76.8% from the free throw line. As a four-year member of the Bears' women's soccer team, she recorded 12 points on three goals and six assists in 63 career games.

Webster makes her home in nearby Madrid, NY with her husband Matt and their three young sons, Noah, Bryce, and Cole.
