Possibly the most challenging non-league weekend of the year awaits the Clarkson University Volleyball team this weekend, as the Golden Knights take on a trio of squads with a combined record of 18-2 in Pennsylvania.

The Series: Clarkson has history against each of its three opponents this weekend. The Knights split with Montclair State in 2008-2009, falling in three the first time but sweeping the Red Hawks the second match up. Clarkson split with Franklin & Marshall in 2018-2019, with both matches needing five sets for a resolution. Clarkson's one meeting against Virginia Wesleyan in 2021 saw the Marlins come away with a four-set victory.

Key Stats for Clarkson (2-4): Senior Allyson Treichel is off to a strong start, ranking second in the Liberty League in hitting percentage at .364 and contributing 2.57 kills and 0.78 blocks per set. Junior outside hitter Marin Hangliter is matching Treichel's 2.57 kills per set while also adding in 2.96 digs per set. Anna Mayer has produced 5.18 assists, 0.55 aces, and 2.59 digs per set, while Abigail Spector is closing in 1000 career digs (934) with 5.04 digs per game.

Key Stats for Montclair State (5-1): The Red Hawks are led by Camryn Muuss's 3.81 kills per set, though Rachel Curran is hitting .304 with 2.65 kills per game as well. Emily Carcich and Gabby Konrad have split the setting duties, with the former recording 7.90 assists per set and the latter notching 4.07 assists per game. Libero Katie Rodman has 4.71 digs per set and also chips in offensively with 0.48 aces per game.

Key Stats for Franklin & Marshall (6-1): The Diplomats are strong from the service line, averaging 2.46 aces per set. Coco Shulz has 0.42 aces per set and leads the team in both kills per set (3.00) and digs per set (2.96). Gianna Mangiamele is hitting .281 with 2.67 kills and 0.58 blocks per set. Liah Perez (5.25 assists per set) and Carly Campbell (4.33 assists per set) are almost even in running the offense.

Key Stats for Virginia Wesleyan (7-0): Off to a strong start after narrowly missing the NCAA Tournament a year ago with a record of 26-6, the Marlins are solid at both the service line (2.33 aces per set) and at the net (2.11 blocks per set). Hannah Smith has posted impressive numbers thus far with 4.07 kills per set at a .272 rate while also adding in 2.93 digs per set and 0.59 aces per set. Emma Claytor has played just 14 of 27 sets for the Marlins, but has a .373 hitting percentage with 2.50 kills and 1.43 blocks per set, though all of those numbers came in the opening weekend.
