The Series: The Golden Knights are 12-8 all-time against Plattsburgh, with the first-ever meeting dating back to 2001. Clarkson has won the last three games by an average of 10.7 goals, outscoring the Cardinals 48-16 in that stretch, which includes a 19-5 win in 2022.

Key Stats for Clarkson (6-0): The Green and Gold rank 15th in the nation in face-off winning percentage at 68.9%, with regular faceoff midfielder Matthew Hansen winning more than 70% of his draws and backup Logan Wilkinson winning more than 75%. That was the case last year against the Cardinals, with Clarkson going 23-for-27 on faceoffs a year ago. Grad student Jacob Mattice ranks 11th in the nation in goals against average at 6.75, as he and the rest of the Clarkson defense have held teams to only 7.50 goals per game, the 22nd best figure in NCAA Division III thus far. Clarkson has successfully weathered some of its injuries on offense, with Thomas Fiebich leading the team with 25 points (8-17-25). Matt Reilly (10-8-18), Connor Matthews (16-0-16), Bryan Penney (13-1-14), and Andrew Kearney (8-6-14) are all jockeying for the second spot in the scoring race for the Knights.

Key Stats for Plattsburgh State (2-4): The Cardinals are averaging less than eight goals per game, but the defense has been solid for the most part, with the team allowing just over 11 goals per contest. Mike Walsh is the team's top distributor with 11 assists and 16 total points, while John Eiseman (8-6-14), Robby Martin (8-4-12), and Gustav Rugg (7-1-8) leading the team's goal scorers. Julian Pigliavento is a menace defensively, causing 12 turnovers with 27 groundballs and Dan Clements has produced solid numbers in 330-plus minutes in the crease, posting a .537 save percentage and 11.36 goals against average. Jimbo Farrelly will look to slow down Clarkson's offense while simultaneously jumpstarting the Cardinals' as he has a 56.3% winning rate on faceoffs.
