Friday night's contest will determine whether or not the Clarkson University Women's Basketball team can stay alive in the playoff picture, as the Golden Knights travel to take on Union College and Skidmore College this weekend to close out the regular-season.

The Series: The Golden Knights were swept back in December against Skidmore and Union, putting the Green and Gold in a situation where they must beat the Dutchwomen on Friday to stay alive in tie-breaking scenarios. Clarkson may very well need a win on Saturday, too, as there is a jumble of teams seeking out the sixth and final playoff spot in the Liberty League standings.

Key Stats for Clarkson (8-13, 5-11 Liberty League): Unless one of the two players beneath her on the scoring leaderboard goes off this weekend, sophomore Cassidy Dumont will become the first Clarkson player to lead the conference in points per game since Linda Bondellio two decades ago. Dumont has upped her scoring with an impressive string of 20-point games, having scored 20 or more in six of the last seven contests. Her 17.5 points per game are close to two points more than any other player in the league. She did her part against Skidmore the first time around, with 21 points thanks to five 3-pointers, but Union held Dumont to only nine points back in December, one of only four times all season she was held to single digits.

Key Stats for Union (8-14, 6-10 Liberty League): The Dutchwomen have won two of their last three games, but lost a key contest against RIT which also could muddle their playoff hopes, as the Tigers are within striking distance of a spot in the conference tournament. Union is one of the lower scoring teams in the conference, averaging just 51.45 points per game, but the Dutchwomen's defense is solid in allowing less than 54 points per contest. Union has struggled from the perimeter this year, shooting just 22.4% from beyond the 3-point arc. The Dutchwomen can be led on the scoresheet by anyone, as the team leader in scoring is Megan Lee at just 7.5 points per contest, but five other players are averaging five points or more per game. Lee averaged 13.5 points per game this past weekend.

Key Stats for Skidmore (18-5, 14-2 Liberty League): The Thoroughbreds have suffered just two defeats in conference play all season long, with both of those losses coming at the hands of top-20 ranked Ithaca College. Like Union, no Skidmore player is averaging in double figures, with Julia Blanck and Andi Levitz the lone players scoring more than eight points per contest. Levitz had a solid game off the bench for Skidmore in the first meeting against Clarkson, producing a team-best 14 points. Blanck is averaging 8.3 points and 9.0 rebounds per contest. Skidmore has won its games by an average of 12 points per contest, limiting teams to less than 51 points per game.
