The Series: Although Cortland has beaten the Golden Knights in all five previous meetings, things have somewhat began to turn. Two games in the 1980s were uncompetitive blowouts and a pair of games in 2016-2017 were never particularly close, but the last game in 2018 was decided in overtime, with Cortland coming away with an 11-10 victory.

Key Stats for Clarkson (1-1): The Golden Knights have found themselves on the opposite ends in two games, falling short against nationally-ranked St. John Fisher last week and then nearly recording a shutout against SUNY Canton on Thursday. Junior Sydney Roderick joined the 100-point club for the Knights on Thursday with a pair of assists, but it was senior Kyrsten Stone who truly stood out in the win over the Kangaroos, scoring nine points on six goals and three assists. Junior Grace Hagberg also enjoyed a solid game against SUNY Canton, scoring four goals and gaining offensive possession for Clarkson with six draw controls.

Key Stats for SUNY Cortland (0-1): The Red Dragons dropped their season-opener to rival Ithaca College earlier this week and will be looking to pick up their first win of the year on Saturday. Hannah Lorenzen led the team in scoring with four points on three goals and an assist, picking up from her strong start last year when she had eight points on three games to go along with nine draws. She also scored 20 points on 15 goals and five assists in Cortland's last full season of 2019 and had 30 points (26-4-30) as a freshman. Hannah Keech and Hannah Tiso also contributed three points apiece against Ithaca, with the latter having produced 21 goals and eight assists combined between 2018-2019. Cortland's goalkeeping position is still a little misunderstood due to sample size questions, as Paige Potter has yet to play a full season. She saw 68 minutes as a freshman, 200 minutes in 2019, but has played in only three games the last two years combined. Her numbers as a sophomore were solid, posting a 3.89 goals against average and a .458 save percentage in the equivalent of three-plus full games.
