In less than two weeks the Clarkson University Women's Basketball team will open up Liberty League play and the Golden Knights are looking to continue their momentum heading into those games when they face SUNY Canton on Monday evening.

The Series: The Knights are 23-7 all-time against SUNY Canton, winning six straight contests against the Kangaroos. The last two games have been close with an average margin of victory of only seven points for Clarkson, including a nine-point gap in last year's meeting.

Key Stats for Clarkson (3-1): Senior Molly Stewart is averaging 11.0 points per game during her career against SUNY Canton, including a 15-point effort last season. This year, Stewart is averaging 14.5 points per game having reached double figures in three of four contests. Junior Hannah Earl has hit double figures in all four contests and is second on the team in scoring at 13.0 ppg. Classmate Emma Buonanno produced the best game of her collegiate career last time out, putting up 12 points, 14 rebounds and 7 steals to up her averages for the year to 9.5 ppg, 6.8 rpg, and 3.5 spg. Freshman Mariah Benavides has seized the starting point guard spot and produced as both a scorer (11.0 ppg) and distributor (3.5 assists per game).

SUNY Canton (0-6): Not much has gone right for the Roos in the early going of the 2019-20 season. The team is averaging just 40.0 points per game and allowing more than 75 per contest, having come within 15 points of both Cazenovia (76-61) and SUNY Morrisville (66-51) for its closest games. Freshman Joie Culkin leads the team with 12.2 points and 8.5 rebounds per game while Autumn Watkins (9.5 ppg) and Shannyn St. Andrews (8.2 rpg) ranks second to Culkin in those respective categories. The Roos are averaging more than 30 turnovers per game and forcing 17 per contest.
