CU Women's Basketball Preview - vs. Skidmore/Rensselaer (2/16-17)

An Alumni Game and Senior Day highlight this weekend's festivities for the Clarkson University Women's Basketball team as the Golden Knights will close out the regular season against Skidmore and Rensselaer at Alumni Gym.

Live Stats/Live Video

The Series vs. Skidmore: The Thoroughbreds used a 28-point fourth quarter to claim a 67-57 come-from-behind victory against the Golden Knights back in December. Skidmore is still vying for the top spot in the Liberty League.

The Series vs. Rensselaer: The Engineers second-ranked Liberty League defense held the Knights to just 17 first-half points in their December meeting and claimed a 56-41 win over Clarkson. RPI is tied for sixth in the conference and is battling William Smith for the final conference playoff spot.

Key Stats for Clarkson (9-14, 4-12 Liberty League): Though the athletic department will be honoring the three-year careers of both Tricia Loso and Raeanna Dunn on Saturday, it is the careers of four-year players Madison Shea and Devin Sorell that have left an indelible mark on the program. The duo will tie the program record for games played on Friday and set a new standard on Saturday, but the records go well beyond participation. Sorell will finish fourth all-time in scoring and rank as the top long-range shooter in program history, while Shea will finish in the top four in both assists and steals while ranking in the top 15 in both scoring and rebounding.

Key Stats for Skidmore (14-9, 12-4 Liberty League): Senior forward Kelly Donnelly came up just a single rebound short of her seventh career double-double against the Knights, having posted 18 points and nine rebounds in her ninth career game against Clarkson. Donnelly leads the Liberty League in scoring (20.0 points per game) and field goal percentage (48.6%) while placing fourth in rebounding (8.6 per game). Veronica Moceri also chips in 11.1 points per contest for the Thoroughbreds.

Key Stats for Rensselaer (11-12, 7-9 Liberty League): The Engineers rank second in the league in both points allowed (54.6 points per game) and field goal percentage (34.3%), while leading the conference in offensive rebounds (14.3 rpg). Elizabeth
Eckhardt (11.7 ppg), Sam Krumbhaar (11.0 ppg), LaKissa Martin (11.0 ppg) are Rensselaer's top three scorers and Shaina Iton ranks among the conference leaders in rebounding (8.9 rpg).
