Eight days separate the Clarkson University Women's Basketball team's win against SUNY Canton and Tuesday's contest versus SUNY Potsdam, but the Golden Knights hope that the momentum they earned from their win last week will carry over to the game the crosstown rival.

Live Stats/Live Video

The Series: Tuesday will mark the 58th meeting between the two teams in the last four-plus decades, with Clarkson holding a 35-22 edge in the all-time matchup. The Golden Knights have won eight straight against the Bears with the last four averaging a margin of 21.3 points.

Key Stats for Clarkson (1-1): Junior Molly Stewart nearly recorded a double-double against the Bears in last season's game, scoring 14 points with nine rebounds in the 69-54 victory. As a freshman, she also tossed in 10 points. This season, she ranks second on the team in scoring at 14.5 points per game, trailing only sophomore guard Carly Assimon (15.5 points per game). Assimon is shooting well from beyond the 3-point arc, making seven of her 15 long-range attempts (46.7%). Sophomore forward Hannah Earl is also averaging double digits in scoring so far, producing 12.0 points per contest.

Key Stats for SUNY Potsdam (2-3): The Bears are relying heavily on a pair of freshman in the early going, and with good reason. Devyn Elliott has nearly twice as many point as any other player on the team, scoring 18.6 points per game to go along with 7.8 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 2.4 steals per contest. Classmate Dyamon Hunter is next at 9.4 points per game, as well as 3.1 assists per game. Senior Abbey Smith is producing 5.0 points and 3.8 assists per game in 2018-19, though she has stood out against Clarkson over the last two years, averaging 19.5 points per game thanks to 7-for-11 shooting from the 3-point line.
