CU Women's Soccer Preview - vs. St. Lawrence (10/23)

With just two games remaining on the regular-season slate, the Clarkson University Women's Soccer team looks to finish strong against possibly its two biggest rivals, starting on Tuesday evening with a match against Route 11 rival St. Lawrence University.

The Series: In 35 previous meetings, the Golden Knights have just three wins and a tie to show for their efforts, but the Green and Gold have not lost to St. Lawrence since 2015 thanks to a 2-1 double overtime tie in 2017 and a 1-1 tie in 2016.

Key Stats for Clarkson (5-8-2, 1-5-1 Liberty League): The junior class has played a big part against St. Lawrence in the last two years. Camryn Careccia scored the game-tying goal in 2017 in the 61st minute on a shot from more than 30 yards out and Giulia Mahoney accounted for the Knights' lone score against the Saints back in 2016. Elyse Green has limited St. Lawrence's offense to two goals in more than 210 minutes, recording 16 saves in the process. Although Clarkson has just one win to show for it, the Knights have allowed only four goals in their last five games.

Key Stats for St. Lawrence (9-1-3, 4-1-2): While Clarkson may have come away with the upper hand in overtime the last two years, the Saints are unbeaten in extra time this year with two wins and three ties. St. Lawrence has allowed only four goals all year, but the Saints are particularly stingy in October, giving up just one goal in 499 minutes, 15 seconds this month. Samantha Allen boasts a 0.31 goals against average and .939 save percentage with 62 saves in 2018 while Katie Clemmer and Julia Mulhern are tied for the team lead with five goals each.
