CU Women's Basketball Preview - vs. SUNY Potsdam (11/28)

Only a little more than 48 hours will have passed since its last game when the Clarkson University Women's Basketball team takes on crosstown rival SUNY Potsdam on Tuesday, but the Golden Knights are looking to one more warmup before the Liberty League slate begins this weekend.

The Series: Clarkson holds a 34-22 advantage since the rivalry began back in the 1975-76 season. The Golden Knights have won seven straight matchups against the Bears, and have held SUNY Potsdam to below 60 points in eight straight contests.

Key Stats for Clarkson (3-2): Senior Madison Shea is the only player in the Liberty League to average double figures in points (11.2 ppg) and also average at least six rebounds and four assists per contest, with one other conference player getting added to the list if the threshold drops to three assists per game. Clarkson is suffering a minus-10.6 disadvantage in rebounding, but makes up for the deficiency with a plus-4.2 margin in turnovers.

Key Stats for SUNY Potsdam (1-2): Junior transfer Riley Luckie is averaging 19.7 points per game thanks to a 52.8% success rate from the field and a 50.0% field goal percentage from beyond the 3-point arc. She has made 10 of her last 14 from the 3-point line. The Bears have struggled with ball control so far, coughing up the ball 23.7 times per game, including 39 total steals by their opponents.
