CU Women's Basketball Preview - vs. SUNY Canton (11/22)

An odd scheduling quirk will see the Clarkson University Women's Basketball team play its third game in just four days on Tuesday when the Golden Knights host SUNY Canton just prior to the Thanksgiving break.

The Golden Knights enter the game with a record of 2-1 after splitting two games in Oneonta this weekend, with the latest game occurring on Sunday afternoon. SUNY Canton has lost both of its games so far in 2016-17.

The Golden Knights hold a 20-7 edge in the all-time series and have won three straight by an average of 28.7 points per game, including a 30-point win 2015.

Senior guard Stephanie Grobe has started her final collegiate season well, shooting 51.4% from the floor for 15.0 points per game. Along with her always impressive defense, Grobe is also averaging 4.0 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game. Junior Devin Sorell has struggled shooting through the first three games, but is still contributing 12.7 points per contest, while classmate Madison Shea is producing solidly across the board with 11.0 points, 5.3 assists and 2.7 steals per contest. Senior Alyssia Marsal has made a strong impression on the glass through three games, averaging 9.3 rebounds to go along with her 8.3 points per contest.

SUNY Canton's offense has sputtered in its first two games, averaging 37.5 points per game and 32.5 turnovers per contest. Jenifer Morgan-Aubin has been a highlight for the Kangaroos, shooting 47.1% from the floor and averaging 11.0 points and 11.0 rebounds per game. Taylor Saltus is averaging 9.5 points, 5.0 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game, while Randi Conway is contributing 6.0 points, 8.5 rebounds, and 3.5 assists per contest.
