CU Men's Basketball Preview - at Oswego State (11/22)

Only a few days remain before Thanksgiving break, but the Clarkson University Men's Basketball team will be hitting the road for the first time this season when the Golden Knights head to Oswego State for a game on Tuesday night.

The Golden Knights lost their season opener on Tuesday but won two games over the weekend to improve to 2-1. Oswego State will also come into the game with a mark of 2-1, having lost its opener. Clarkson leads the all-time series with 17 wins in 30 meetings, though the Lakers claimed the win last season, 73-58.

Clarkson has been led by its seniors thus far, with forward Derek Hart producing the most through three games. Hart leads the Liberty League with a field goal percentage of 60.6% and is fifth in scoring at 18.3 points per game, though that mark is second among teams that have played multiple games. Hart also is shooting 83.3% from the free throw line. Conrad Zampier is second on the team in scoring at 12.0 points per contest, while Drew Zlogar is tossing in 10 ppg and leading the team with 7.7 rebounds per game.

The Lakers went 22-9 last year, winning a pair of NCAA Tournament games before getting eliminated in the Sweet 16. Brian Sortino returns to lead the Lakers and is averaging 21.0 points and 4.7 assists per game. Ian Schupp is tossing in 11.7 points per contest and shooting 56.0% from the floor, while Keith Tyson is close to a double-double in the early going with 10.7 points and 8.3 boards per game.
