Two goals and an assist from Zachary Godin led the Clarkson University Men's Soccer team to a 3-0 win over SUNY Potsdam on Tuesday night on Hantz Turf Field.

Clarkson is now 5-9-2 this season while Potsdam is 10-7-1.

Godin got the Golden Knights on the scoreboard nearly 18 minutes into the game. Drew Lewis got behind the Potsdam defense and took a shot that had the Bears goalkeeper beaten. The ball caught the edge of the far post though, and bounced to the foot of Godin who made no mistake on his shot, burying the ball between two Potsdam defenders.

Clarkson doubled its lead in the 58th minute. Clarkson won a free kick on the left side and Godin swung a cross into the box. Jon Jones rose up between defenders and directed a header into the top left corner for his first collegiate goal.

Godin added his second goal in the 85th minute. Jones was taken down in the Potsdam box and the referee whistled for a Clarkson penalty kick. For the fifth time this season, Godin stepped up to take the spot kick and for the fifth time this season, his kick found the back of the net, this time with the ball ricocheting off the goalkeeper and in.

Potsdam had a 15-12 shot advantage and a 6-2 edge in corner kicks. Riley McDonald made eight saves for Clarkson, including two point blank saves in the second half. Jesse Kohler had three stops for Potsdam.

Clarkson will play its final game of the season on Saturday in a 1:00 pm game against St. Lawrence on Hantz Turf Field.
