Schenectady, NY - Senior guard Vanessa Westcott (Parish, NY) scored 15 points and dished out five assists but her performance was not enough as the Clarkson University Women's Basketball team fell 63-47 against Union on the final day of the regular season.

The Golden Knights concluded play with an 8-17 record overall and a 4-10 mark in the Liberty League while Union moved to 13-11 and 9-5. The eight victories are the most for Clarkson since the 2002-03 season.

Clarkson jumped out to a 14-6 lead in the opening 10 minutes, only to see its lead evaporate over the last 10 minutes as Union concluded the half on its own 23-9 run, including a 6-0 edge in the final two minutes. The second half was more of the same for the Knights as Union continued to pour on the points, pushing its advantage to as many as 20 points in the second half before finally settling with a 16-point victory.

Westcott's 15 points were a team-high for Clarkson as she finished the season as the Knights' leading scorer at 8.9 ppg. Sarah Wesner (Sidney, NY) grabbed 10 rebounds in her final game, finishing with 635 in her career, the fifth-most in Clarkson history. Mickala Henson (Waverly, NY) blocked six shots to finish with 40 this season, the second-highest figure in Clarkson history, and 142 in her career, the highest figure in the Clarkson annals.

Maria Tobin led all scorers with 16 points for Union and Krystal Hammond added 13 points and 15 rebounds. Union out rebounded Clarkson 56-40 in the game, and had 28 offensive boards.
