EMLAW'S SECOND SHUTOUT OF WEEK GIVES KNIGHTS 1-0 WIN OVER RPI

Potsdam, NY - Meagan Emlaw (Norwood, NY) recorded five saves in the second half to help the Clarkson University Women's Soccer team hold on for a 1-0 Liberty League victory over Rensselaer Saturday afternoon at Clarkson Field.

The Golden Knights improved to 3-5 overall and 1-2 in the conference while the Red Hawks dropped to 0-5-1 overall and 0-2 in the Liberty League. The win ended an eight-game losing streak and a nine-game winless streak against Rensselaer.

Senior striker Jennifer Urquhart (Portland, ME) scored the game's lone goal at the 51:56 mark in the second half. Freshman Alicia Chace ran through the midfield and sent a pass straight through to Urquhart who was able to shoot a groundball past Red Hawks' goalie Regina Primm from about 15 yards out.

The Red Hawks out shot Clarkson 11-7, including a 10-5 advantage in the second half, and had five corner kicks to the Knights' three. Primm made three saves for Rensselaer while Emlaw finished with five saves for the Golden Knights.

Clarkson returns to action next weekend when they visit Russell Sage.
