Potsdam, NY - Freshman Alicia Chace (Cortland, NY) scored her first collegiate goal at the 33:27 mark of the first half to lift the Clarkson University Women's Soccer team to a 1-0 win over Potsdam State Tuesday evening.

The Golden Knights improved to 2-4 on the season and Potsdam fell to 1-5-1. Clarkson begins the Liberty League slate this weekend when they host Vassar and Rensselaer at Clarkson Field.

Clarkson enjoyed several excellent scoring chances in the first half, out shooting Potsdam 9-2. The Golden Knights finally broke through with under 15 minutes remaining in the half when freshman Catie Reed (LaFayette, NY) booted a corner kick into the goalie's box which Chace headed into the opposite corner of the net for the game's only score.

Meagan Emlaw (Norwood, NY) made three saves for her first career shutout. Jordan Havens made eight saves for Potsdam.
