KNIGHTS BREAK DROUGHT WITH 66-59 WIN AT POTSDAM

Potsdam, NY - Sophomore forward Sarah Wesner (Sidney, NY) tied her career-high with 17 points for the second consecutive game as the Clarkson University Women's Basketball team picked up its first win of the season with a 66-59 victory over crosstown rival Potsdam State Tuesday night at Maxcy Hall.

The Golden Knights improved to 1-3 on the season and return to action two weeks from now when they visit RIT and Hilbert College. Potsdam fell to 1-2.

Wesner shot 7-for-10 from the floor and grabbed nine rebounds to help lead the Knights. Also producing offensively were sophomore forward Mickala Henson (Waverly, NY) and freshman Amanda Czop (Athens, NY), who produced 12 and 11 points, respectively. Czop shot 4-for-10 from the floor.

Senior guard Linda Fernandez (Kennebunkport, ME) continues to attack the Clarkson record book, picking up five more steals to close to within one of the Clarkson all-time record. She also added seven points, nine rebounds and seven assists for the Knights.
