SWEENEY SINKS 27 IN UCAA WIN OVER SKIDMORE

Bridget Sweeney Scored a career-high 27 points in win over Skidmore.
Saratoga Springs, NY - Senior guard Bridget Sweeney (Corning, NY) scored a career-high 27 points on 7-for-15 shooting from the field, including five 3-pointers, to lift the Clarkson University Women's Basketball team to a 62-55 win over Skidmore College in an Upstate Collegiate Athletic Association (UCAA) league game Saturday afternoon.

The Golden Knights improved to 6-8 overall and 1-2 in the UCAA, having won five of their last seven games. Skidmore fell to 5-9 and 0-3.

Sweeney shot a perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line in addition to her solid performance from the field. She needs just 17 more points to move into the top 20 all-time scorers at Clarkson.

Freshman forward Mickala Henson (Waverly, NY) scored 12 points, grabbed eight rebounds and made three steals for Clarkson, while classmate Sarah Wesner (Sidney, NY) added 15 rebounds. Lisa Mason and Danielle Bonitatibus each scored 12 points to lead the Thoroughbreds.

Clarkson returns home for UCAA action against Rensselaer and Vassar next weekend.
